The Mechanical Designer will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage a parts list. Designers will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost has been considered. - Create engineering documentation including SolidWorks, modeling, fabrication, and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards
- Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation
- Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules
- Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills.
- Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness
- Complete work assignments within a determined time frame and use judgment in determining assignment goals
- Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products
- Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logic
- Be part of and function in a team environment including cross-functional and inter-departmental teams

Minimum Qualifications:
- Vocational or Technical Degree or Associates in Design/Drafting
- Knowledge of SolidWorks, Creo or Catia or other related program(s)
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sheet metal design and/or HVAC products
- 2+ years of related experience
- Direct professional work experience with SolidWorks, Creo or Catia experience
- Experience with mechanical design and ability to use and understand mechanical systems

The typical hourly pay rate for this Mechanical Designer roles range from $23.65 - $40.86 in Virginia. The range(s) displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade(s) in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
