Job Summary

The National Clinician Consultation Center is recruiting a Project Manager for its new reproductive health clinical peer education service and related capacity-building activities.

The Project Manager will assist in the planning, implementation, and coordination of this new program. The incumbent will be part of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and administrative staff and will work under the general supervision of the Project Principal Investigator. The incumbent will perform administrative tasks and evaluation activities related to the coordination and oversight of NCCC's reproductive health projects and related activities to ensure timely and effective project development and completion. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage project planning and implementation, including assessing needs, setting goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain project work plans and calendar of schedules; monitor, review, and evaluate progress; support timely development and submission of project progress reports.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings, establish and maintain internal and external contacts as necessary.
  • Serve as a liaison and interface with other programs, funders and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support project evaluation and research activities to help determine project outcomes and impact; inform development of future funding applications as well as scientific and public dissemination of project findings.
  • Coordinate hiring and onboarding processes for clinical staff and administrative staff.
  • Manage reproductive health advisory board including scheduling quarterly meetings, communications, agenda development, presentation materials and notes.

This individual should be highly organized, capable of working independently and possess excellent communication skills.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $116,700 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC) at the Department of Family & Community Medicine (FCM) provides immediate, state-of-the-art HIV/AIDS-related clinical consultation to health care providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists and other health care professionals) across the country through six telephone and online consultation services: * HIV/AIDS Management Consultation Service (Warmline): 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST * Post-Exposure Prophylaxis Consultation Service (PEPline): 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST * Perinatal HIV Consultation and Referral Service: 24/7 * Hepatitis C Consultation Service: 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST * Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Consultation Service (PrEPline): 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST * Substance Use Warmline: 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Minimum three years of project management skills, including the ability to define program, project or process objective, identify stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, coordinate and allocate human, technological and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives within timeliness defined in project plan
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, a diplomatic approach to work and communication, active listening, critical thinking, advising and counseling skills with the ability to easily establish credibility among a wide range of stakeholders (governmental, academic, policy and health care providers).
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, proven ability to handle complex details accurately and attentively, ability to prioritize a diverse and heavy workload, meet tight deadlines, problem solve as well as provide timely follow-through
  • Strong skills in analyzing researching and synthesizing information for preparing sound and relevant reports and proposals.
  • Excellent computer skills including project management tools, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience with qualitative and quantitative research design including tools for data collection and analyses

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum two years prior experience working in health professional field in the area of reproductive health, reproductive justice and/or clinical settings related to reproductive health.
  • Experience creating clinician networks
  • Experience acting as liaison to public health programs (including both governmental and non-governmental) and other relevant stakeholders
  • Previous grant writing experience
  • Previous experience with implementation science
