Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee and manage mechanical systems for heavy civil highway and mining projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, and project management, and the ability to lead complex projects from inception through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all mechanical aspects of heavy civil highway and mining projects.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure adherence to these plans.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Lead and manage project teams, including mechanical engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and resolving any issues or risks that arise.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project stakeholders, and internal teams to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Review and approve project documentation, including plans, specifications, and change orders.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, expenditures, and forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certificate is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management for heavy civil or mining projects, with a focus on mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience managing mechanical projects in heavy civil highway and/or mining environments.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
