Core Functions:Performs incoming inspections of all medical equipment and/or imaging/radiographic devices, items entering the Salem Health system including new, leased, loaned, rented, and physician- or patient-owned.Performs and documents preventive maintenance inspections on assigned equipment to include physical, functional, calibration, and any safety checks required by the vendor, manufacturer, regulatory, and/or Salem Health standards.Documents all operator-induced equipment problems and follow-up corrective activity on corresponding work order; Instructs individuals and groups of equipment users on proper and safe use of equipment on informal, ad hoc basis. Schedules formal in-service training programs, coordinates, and attends vendor training; provides follow-up to vendor training; Researches, develops, and teaches operator training programs as required.Recommends or establishes inventory of replacement parts and accessories for clinical equipment; Collects information on lifecycle of medical equipment/systems and makes recommendations on replacement. Participates in projects or leads portions of projects providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and/or coordination between Technicians to deliver project objectives.Travels between clinics, West Valley Hospital, and main hospital campus; Occasionally transports equipment between facilities for repair at Salem Health main campus and subsequent return to the offsite location. Must maintain a clean driving record, pass background for Motor Vehicle Record checks. If a hospital vehicle is not available, personal vehicles may be used in accordance with hospital policy. All mileage on personal vehicles reimbursed per hospital policy. A reasonable accommodation can be approved through department leadership.Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, routing, applied electronics, circuit analysis troubleshooting, strong mechanical ability, organizational skills, and excellent customer services skills.Experienced with a variety of electronic and diagnostic test equipment.Possesses the necessary skills and technical training to perform job duties as assigned.Must be capable of heavy physical work, including lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling for long periods of time.Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is an equal opportunity employer.
