About the role:

We seek a strategic and results-driven Procurement Assistant Manager, Maersk Ground Freight to lead our trucking procurement efforts, securing capacity at competitive rates to support profitable growth. This role is essential in shaping regional procurement strategies, building strong supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement across our operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement regional strategies for inland trucking, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering cost leadership and best-in-class service.

  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, leading complex negotiations to secure optimal terms and pricing.

  • Regional Leadership: Oversee procurement operations within a specific U.S. region, ensuring alignment with national and global strategies.

  • Performance and Savings: Drive significant cost savings and operational efficiencies, tracking metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and supplier compliance.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and lead the procurement analyst team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement risks, developing contingency plans to address potential supply disruptions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance procurement processes, staying updated on industry trends and best practices.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (graduate studies preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation or supply chain, with a strong background in Cartage/LTL.

  • Experience in procurement or vendor management is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strategic mindset, data-driven, and customer-focused.

  • Ability to thrive in a matrix organization and drive business outcomes.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 USD*

Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401k Match.

*The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors, such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
