Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned) Want to leverage your experience working on deal teams and project development? Want to gain exposure to clean energy initiatives and cutting edge technologies in the energy sector? The Strategic Development Manager provides market intelligence, serves as a subject matter expert, and leads the team in identifying, developing, implementing and closing structured transactions relating to the purchase and sale of strategic projects in geothermal power generation, carbon capture sequestration, battery storage and other clean energy initiatives. Job Responsibilities Responsible for strategic marketing and sales activities including assisting in identifying, developing, implementing and closing structured transactions relating to the purchase and sale of complex and strategic customers/prospects for power and natural gas related products and services. Support negotiation of master trading and transportation agreements with target customers. Implement market penetration strategies focused on power and gas and help develop customer value propositions. Develop relationships with IOUs, municipals, cooperatives, and other load serving entities as well as gas producers, pipeline transportation companies, and storage service providers for assigned territory(s). Serve as a subject matter expert and provide market intelligence regarding commodity pricing, transmission/transportation outages, supply/demand changes, and other factors that might impact the value of Calpine's economic portfolio. Contribute to the development of new and existing products and services to increase market presence and meet customer demands including collaborating with related areas such as Risk Management, Asset Optimization, and Business Development. Actively support a variety of new generation project development and existing project expansions regarding power offtake agreements, fuel supply, and fuel transportation.
