1st Shift - Coil Line Tender

McNeilus Steel, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a new team member to join our company in our coil processing department as a Coil Line Tender. Day schedule is Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm, with OT as needed, with the shift concluding when all work is completed.

The majority of the responsibilities include operating overhead cranes; loading, unloading, organizing, and staging steel coils.

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Must operate crane and forklift skillfully and safely
• Stage coils in proper sequence for processing for both de-coiling lines
• Safely and efficiently unload rail cars, inspect, receive, and store coils
• Assist with unloading lines and packaging sheets for inventory and shipment as needed
• Stage coils for processing to both Red Bud and Delta machines in an efficient and timely manner
• Performs other duties as instructed and assigned
• Learn, understand, and comply with OSHA requirements, company safety rules, and health policies at all times, working according to good safety practices as posted, instructed, and discussed
• Use all safety devices, equipment, and PPE as directed and provided for protection

Qualifications

• Forklift and crane certified
• Knowledge of steel products preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot, work well independently, and as a team
• Working knowledge of steel products and computer system
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in fluent English
• Willingness to learn and implement new skills
