  • In addition to quality, continually ensuring all employees follow health and safety regulations while monitoring operations to promote the wellbeing of the whole team.
  • Lead and enforce adherence to the contract, work plans, project safety plan, project quality plan, project environmental plan and company initiatives.
  • Lead the project team in the establishment and achievement of goals to meet and/or exceed all estimates, company goals and initiatives.
  • Fully understand the project specifications, estimate, budget, assumptions, inclusions, exclusions for the general contract, subcontracts, and material suppliers
  • Responsible for ensuring that all assigned project estimates, schedules, constructability reviews, value engineering, procurement, oversight and execution are completed with safety, quality, and environmental constraints as priorities.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with team members, owners, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and the local community.
  • Liaise with authorities and regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for all construction work plans that meets and/or exceeds the requirements of the contract documents for all assigned projects.
  • Responsible for the project schedule including procurement lead times, resources, costs, short interval schedules, schedule impact analysis and schedule improvement techniques.
  • Review and implement project recovery plans as needed.
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders including processing and assessing cost and schedule impacts, and preparation of claims.
  • Oversee weekly labor and equipment reports, and monthly progress/performance reports for owners/clients.
  • Collaborate with Equipment, and Operations managers to maintain required equipment utilization and tracking
  • Job forecasting per company guidelines and accounting practices
  • Review and compile pay applications and labor, equipment, and material cost reports to complete forecasts
  • Oversee the approval all project invoices.
  • Oversee the approval of daily time cards for all project team members.
  • Review subcontracts and major purchase orders for execution
  • Oversee and enforce all processes and procedures that support startup and the project close-out phase.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide job assignments and lead career development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management with involvement in project pursuit to project close-out, overseeing large and complex mechanical construction projects.
  • 5 years of experience on heavy industrial projects preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Outlook, and related software programs. Knowledge of Procore Auto CAD, ECMS and P6 desired.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of Ames' personnel, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
