UNMMG ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER - PRIMARY AND URGENT CARE - LOBO CARE - Grande clinic in-person care with opportunity for telehealth.

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Lobo Health and Telehealth teams! This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) opportunity.

*Sign-on Bonus Available*

Minimum $110,843 - Midpoint $141,232*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full-time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

Summary

The clinician will be responsible for delivering primary care and urgent care in-person and telemedicine visits as part of the UNM Medical Group outpatient Grande clinic as a Lobohealth clinician.

This primary care practitioner will provide independent acute and/or routine medical care to an outpatient primary care patient population. Establishes goals and priorities in accordance with patient and staff needs and organizational objectives. The clinician may supervise support staff in an after hours or remote clinical setting.

Minimum Job Requirements of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant:

Education: Advanced Practice Nursing or Physician Assistant Accredited Program Graduate. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire. Excellent communication skills, tele-etiquette, and timely documentation are a must.

Experience:



  • No minimum experience is required, but experience in Primary or Urgent care is preferred.



  • Exposure and familiarity with basic audio/video technology and tele-visits are desirable.


Licenses/Certifications:



  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Nursing or Physician Assistant Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners and Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Prescriptive Authority from the State of New Mexico.
  • Federal DEA Certification.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers (with hands-on training) must be obtained within 30 calendar days of the date of hire


Duties and Responsibilities of a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant:



  • Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans; implement treatment, follow-up, and evaluate patients within the scope of practice protocols outlined by state statute.
  • Assist in providing pre-op and post-op care; write appropriate orders, ,including prescriptions for appropriate medications.
  • Perform patient history and applicable evaluation as needed, document findings, and note pertinent normal and abnormal findings.
  • Notifies attending physician back up, , or supervising physician regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation.
  • Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods (whenever applicable).
  • Work as a team member with medical/nursing staff to provide comprehensive care and promote continuity of care. Guide, teach, support, and serve as a resource for nursing and/or medical staff.
  • Provide accurate documentation of patient care, document orders, directives, and patient responses in the medical record and communicate them to other healthcare team members; maintain accurate, legible, and confidential records.
  • Provide health education to patients, families, and/or community health practitioners and groups; may train and supervise medical residents engaged in specific clinical activities.
  • Act as a role model through conduct, appearance, communication, tele-etiquette, mutual respect, leadership, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
