We are seeking resumes for an Equipment Operator (1 - Opening) in our Wallula, WA facility.

Description of role:

This position supports mill operations by unloading/loading trucks and or barges containing wood chips intended to go to the Wallula paper mill.

Pay and Benefits:

The hourly rate for the Equipment Operator position starts at $30.15 Employees (and their dependents) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance coverage, subject to applicable waiting periods. Employees are automatically enrolled in PCA's 401k retirement plan at the time of hire. Employees are also eligible for up to 120 hours of vacation (prorated) and eleven (11) paid holidays per calendar year.

Principle Accountabilities:

Loading trucks with sawdust and woodchips using a wheel loader

Manage all loading paperwork i.e. bill of lading

Demonstrate proficiency while operating a wheel loader, including observing all safety best practices.

Effectively inspect, clean, and maintain wheel loader and other heavy equipment before, during, and after use.

Perform routine maintenance on wheel loader (fluids and filters)

Wash down wheel loader at the end of each shift

Maintain chip pile management with loader and /or dozer.

Must be flexible and have a willingness to perform any task as necessary

This position will require a person to work long hours 4 to 6 day a week as needed

Must have the ability to work safely, learn new skills and work within a team environment.

Basic Qualifications:

Seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment.

Candidate must be trained and certified to operate a bucket loader, loading directly into chip and /or using a conveyor or ramp.

Candidate must possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with co-workers.

Other competencies include initiative, motivation, working long rotating shifts as needed (nights/days) and must work well in a team environment and have the ability to learn new skills .

Candid must have demonstrated ability to work safely. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have a high school diploma or GED

The successful candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills & abilities:

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required.

Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Must be flexible with work hours.

Excellent time management skills required to effectively use time to accomplish required responsibilities.

Must have the ability to set high personal standards of performance and goals, while working under minimal supervision.
