Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics

Neonatal Hospitalists

The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recruiting for neonatal hospitalists. Appointment will be made at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor rank of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X, or Adjunct faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will possess a medical degree and license, and board eligibility or certification in pediatrics. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively is a vital preferred qualification. Preferred candidates will show interest in a career in academic pediatrics.

Clinical duties will encompass caring for patients in the level IV intensive care nursery at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco. Responsibilities may include independent care of lower acuity patients, supervised care of high acuity patients, neonatal resuscitations, and potential participation in the neonatal transport team, depending on the candidate.

Academic pursuits will align with the candidate's interests and may involve clinical teaching, resident education, quality improvement, clinical investigation, and more.

For positions that are 51% effort or more:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $104,800-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $74,800-$228,600.
