| Driver Helper / Warehouse AssociatePosition Title: Driver Helper / Warehouse AssociatePay Rate: Up to $18.00 per hourSchedule: Monday - Saturday (Start times may be as early as 2:00 AM until route completion)Location: Sysco Distribution OperationsEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryWe are seeking dependable, hardworking candidates to support Sysco delivery operations as a Driver Helper. This position works alongside a Sysco Delivery Driver and is responsible for assisting with the unloading and delivery of produce, food products, and related merchandise to customer locations. This is a physically demanding role that requires consistent attendance, reliability, and the ability to work extended hours.Candidates should understand that this position regularly requires 50+ hours per week, including overtime. This is not a flexible or on-call role; employees are expected to report as scheduled and complete assigned routes.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist delivery drivers with unloading and delivering produce, food products, and related merchandise to customer locations.Accurately count and verify products during deliveries.Transport merchandise from delivery vehicles to designated customer storage areas.Load and unload trailers, trucks, and company vehicles manually or with hand trucks and dollies.Stack, secure, and organize products to prevent damage during transportation.Assist with checking in returned products and verifying quantities with receiving personnel.Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude while interacting with customers.Follow established safety procedures and participate in ongoing safety initiatives.Work effectively with drivers, warehouse personnel, transportation teams, and customers.Perform overtime and extended hours as required to complete delivery routes.QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.Previous warehouse, distribution center, loading/unloading, or general labor experience required.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Strong attendance and reliability.Ability to work early morning start times, including shifts beginning as early as 2:00 AM.Ability to work Monday through Saturday and overtime as needed.Strong customer service and communication skills.Physical RequirementsAbility to consistently lift up to 90 pounds.Ability to repeatedly climb in and out of trailers and delivery vehicles throughout the day.Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, carry, and stand for extended periods.Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot and cold environments.Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout a 10-12+ hour shift.Work EnvironmentDistribution and warehouse environment.Frequent travel on delivery routes as a passenger/helper.Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and refrigerated environments.Fast-paced setting with productivity and safety expectations.Important Notes for CandidatesThis position is a Driver Helper role only; no driving is required.Candidates must be comfortable working 50+ hours per week.Early morning availability is required.Physical stamina and the ability to perform heavy lifting throughout the shift are essential.Interview ProcessInitial phone interview.Selected candidates may be invited for a face-to-face interview Enable Skills-Based Hiring No Onboarding Package Q3Shift Details 1st / DayTime Type Full time | |
