What to Expect

This position within the IT Operations team will serve primarily to support, maintain, and improve workstation standards for Tesla's global Linux endpoint fleet. The primary task of this position will be to troubleshoot Linux endpoint related systems and software, while also assisting with the day-to-day operations for Tesla's global IT infrastructure to provide for the growth of Tesla's initiatives. These duties will be performed in compliance with policy guidelines and within timeframes as defined in the team's SLAs and/or project requirements.


What You'll Do
  • Maintain client management platform availability by use of monitoring tools while proactively responding to operational risks via automated response mechanisms
  • Engineer, pilot, and implement upgrades and improvements to client device provisioning workflows in a hybrid identity environment
  • Work with autonomy teams to do day-to-day support for application specific workflows
  • Serve as Linux client endpoint subject matter expert and high-level escalation point for technical support teams
  • Support Application workflows for role-specific Linux devices
  • Serve as a contact point for high-level engineering teams using Linux Devices for support

What You'll Bring
  • Proficient with in-depth technical troubleshooting of Linux client endpoints
  • Proficient knowledge of patch management concepts and methodologies
  • Experience packaging software, updates, and patches for Linux client endpoints
  • Experience implementing and managing platform tools such as Puppet, Ansible, etc
  • Experience configuring and managing CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, etc
  • Experience automating Linux client endpoint OS deployment workflows
  • Experience in one or more modern scripting languages (Ex: Python, Bash, Shell, PowerShell)
  • Experience with supporting technical support teams, and end users directly
  • Incredible ability to work both collectively and independently in a fast-paced setting and pivot rapidly when necessary
  • Three+ years' experience in client endpoint engineering

    Expected Compensation
    $120,000 - $396,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
