ABOUT THE ROLE
This new Specialist role will be critical to improving operational efficiency for new and existing field/bargaining unit employees for Sturgeon's Colorado C&I employees (HBU's 1542 & 1556). The Workforce Administration Specialist will be responsible for leading onboarding functions, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and timely communication for field/union employees across both departments. The Specialist must possess exceptional customer service skills and maintain a high level of professionalism in representing Sturgeon C&I Colorado (HBU 1542 & 1556), both internally and externally with union partners. Sturgeon Electric's Commercial and Industrial (C&I)electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. We also offer design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and AutoCAD capabilities. Essential Functions
- Onboarding Coordination: Oversee and streamline the onboarding process for Sturgeon Electric Company - C&I Colorado (HBU's 1542 and 1556); primary point of contact for HBU 's 1542 and/or HBU 1556 workforce for nearly 700 new and existing union/field workforce members
- Ensure a more streamlined onboarding experience with better regulatory adherence
- Communications
- Team Communication: Foster strong communication channels across Sturgeon Colorado's C&I operations and administrative teams, and with other MYR departments
- Union Communication: Manage all correspondence and documentation with bargaining employees and representatives from the local unions (IBEW)
- Employee Records Management: Lead the cleanup, organization, and ongoing management of employee files and for all collective bargaining unit employee correspondence
- Advancements & Promotions: Maintain and coordinate advancement and promotional activities internally and externally with local union partners
- DOT Commercial Driver Compliance
- Commercial Driver Compliance: Track MVRs, manage FMCSA-required documentation, and maintain commercial driver files
- Work closely with the MYR Group's DOT group to ensure Sturgeon Colorado C&I maintains compliance with applicable regulations
- Regulatory Testing & Checks: Oversee and complete pre-employment and random drug testing, background checks, and ensure compliance
- Internal Leave of Absence Tracking / Communication: Monitor leaves of absence, including FMLA, FMLI, WC, and furloughs; collaborate with corporate Leave Specialist to administer leaves
- Process Standardization:
- Develop and implement processes including onboarding checklists, termination checklists/protocols, drug screen processes, and badging procedures for Sturgeon Colorado C&I field/bargaining unit employees
- Technology Integration: Assist with transitioning locations like Grand Junction and Wyoming to digital onboarding systems (iCIMS), eliminating paper-based processes
- System Support: Contribute to the effective use and management of Rivet and other applications for the department
- Prioritize other initiatives as work continues on continuous improvements

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible Human Resources or workforce administration experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with HR systems and digitizing processes
- Minimum 2 years of training and/or experience with DOT/commercial driver compliance / FMCSA
- Minimum 2 years of Leave of Absence (LOA) administration (FMLA, WC, etc.) is crucial
- Strong background in onboarding, compliance tracking, and HR process standardization
- Solid experience working with unionized workforces
- Experience working with collective bargaining agreements (CBA's) in electric construction field is highly preferred
- Experience in a lead or supervisory role would be beneficial
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development - Preferred
- High school diploma or GED - Required
- Training in Human Resources administration, labor relations, and/or regulatory compliance - Preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Solid understanding and knowledge of relevant systems, platforms and digitizing processes; e.g., JDE-E1, iCIMS, Rivet, FMCSA
- Advanced knowledge of onboarding processes
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Solid understanding of DOT Commercial Driver Compliance guidelines (FMCSA)
- Strong background in onboarding, compliance tracking, and HR process standardization
- Solid understanding of HR process standards
- Solid understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Solid understanding of Leave of Absence (LOA) administration
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Must be detailed oriented
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives that scale with organizational growth

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary$71,932 -$83,669/ year
- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
