CNA - CVPH Skilled Nursing Facility

The Certified Nurse Aide provides direct care to residents, including resident hygiene and activities of daily living, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Certified Nurse Aide performs those direct care activities that are permitted to be delegated to unlicensed personnel under the New York State Practice Act, applicable regulations, hospital policies, New York State Long Term Care regulations, and standards established by Nursing Services.

The Certified Nurse Aide also performs support functions for the unit/department as assigned by the appropriate Registered Nurse and/or manager.

Education/Skills Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required, or must be obtained within two (2) years of hire.
• Completion of a New York State-approved Long Term Care training program and current New York State Nurse Aide certification required.
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Must meet all pre-employment screening and physical requirements.

As applicable, the individual must demonstrate the training and competency necessary to attend to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the residents for whom care is being provided.

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date.
