Position Summary
The CH47F Instructor Pilot delivers highquality simulator instruction in Transportable Flight Proficiency Simulator (TFPS) devices and serves as a technical expert in CH47F aircrew training. This role oversees mission setup, instruction, evaluation, and simulator operation while ensuring compliance with U.S. Army and hostnation training standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with supported aviation units to schedule simulator activities, maintain training alignment, and manage customer communication.
  • Prepare and submit monthly simulator usage and scheduling reports to designated program representatives.
  • Support hostnation demonstrations, briefings, and familiarization events involving the TFPS systems.
  • Perform preflight, postflight, scheduled, and unscheduled simulator inspections; complete operational readiness checks and maintenance test runs; report deficiencies to maintenance and program oversight.
  • Maintain individual pilot simulator flighthour records and provide monthly reporting to unit flight operations when required.
  • Develop and maintain a Simulator Training Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) covering qualifications, responsibilities, and training processes in accordance with program approval requirements.
  • Deliver instruction on CH47F aircraft systems, instrument flight, mission operations, emergency procedures, and flight management systems.
  • Operate the Instructor Operating Station (IOS), including scenario control, weather and environmental settings, fault insertion, and simulated air traffic services.
  • Conduct inflight evaluations, examinations, and targeted instruction, determining training objectives, tasks, and evaluation criteria consistent with U.S. Army or hostnation aviation standards.
  • Manage student checkin, provide mission loads, weather settings, flight planning data, and all necessary training materials for each event.
  • Ensure aircrew have required technical manuals, operational publications, and planning materials, and maintain governmentprovided flight information publications.
  • Support aircrew throughout the training event, reviewing and validating mission planning, providing guidance, and answering questions before and during simulator sessions.
  • Lead debriefings and performance assessments in accordance with the Aircrew Training Manual, documenting required comments in training records and providing corrective instruction.
  • Provide training in day, night, and NVG operations; emergency procedures; instrument and terrain flight; tactics; gunnery; and simulated ATC services following applicable regulatory guidance.
  • Train and evaluate unit aviators for simulator Instructor/Operator (I/O) qualification when requested.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on aviation publications, training standards, and simulator techniques; monitor changes to references and recommend updates to training materials and courseware.
  • Assess simulator performance and recommend improvements to software, hardware, and training modules.
  • Deliver or adapt training materials, courseware, and Programs of Instruction (POIs), reusing existing resources whenever feasible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Fort Rucker-trained CH47F Instructor Pilot or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant military experience on the CH47F platform.
  • CH47F simulator I/O experience within the past three years.
  • Demonstrated skill operating IOS systems for mission setup, control, monitoring, and afteraction review.
  • Strong communication and instructional skills.
  • Ability to work flex time schedule as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operational deployment or mission experience in CH47F aircraft.
  • Experience teaching multinational or hostnation aircrews.
