Job Description

Planting Operator ( 3rd Shift)

Position Summary

As a Plating Operator, you will play a critical role in the production lifecycle by applying high-quality chemical conversion coatings (Post Chromate) to steel alloy aerospace and industrial parts. We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in precision workmanship. In this role, you will utilize advanced racking techniques, manage manual and tank chromate treatments, and oversee essential pre-cleaning processes like solvent cleaning and vapor degreasing. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Maintain strict adherence to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe equipment interaction.
  • Precision Coating: Execute intermediate racking, product loading, and manual/tank chromate treatments.
  • Chemical Management: Safely make intermediate chemical additions (including acids and cyanides) according to exact specifications.
  • Quality Control: Conduct in-process inspections using advanced tools like X-ray units to ensure all parts meet rigorous quality standards.
  • Technical Compliance: Correctly interpret technical documentation (C-Specs), maintain accurate process logs, and ensure full product traceability.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and replacements of racking components to keep production running smoothly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a dynamic team environment, supporting peers and aligning with leadership objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read, write, and interpret complex work instructions, basic blueprints, and dimensions.
  • Shop Mathematics: Proficient in basic shop math, including fractions and decimals.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using basic hand tools (wrenches, etc.) and precision measurement instruments (micrometers).
  • Process Tracking: Familiar with calculating plating times and monitoring digital process charts.
  • Digital Literacy: Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate the company intranet to locate process documents.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to repeatedly lift up to 45 lbs and flexibility to work overtime as required.

Experience & Education

  • Experience: Typically 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or plating environment.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.00 to $26.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
