Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer Manager, oversees the execution of technical projects and personnel to support the continuous improvement of various PPC products and manufacturing. This role will report to the Director of Global Manufacturing Engineering. The Manufacturing Engineering manager will work closely with both production personnel and the Design Engineering team.

You will make a difference in the following ways



  • Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training for manufacturing processes.
  • Addresses production stoppages and takes corrective action when problem is process related.
  • Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
  • Develops routings, processes and tooling when operations require existing products to be manufactured on alternate equipment.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new and revised products including setting costs / rates, sourcing tools, defining processes and evaluating preproduction runs.
  • Develops and tests and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for improving manufacturing methods or efficiency.
  • Collects and analyzes data to drive fact-based decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Leads and supervises tool room and facilities maintenance personnel.
  • Leader of the on-site safety team and the safety interface to corporate.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.



What you bring



  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks design systems preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.

  • Ability to identify, lead, and implement process improvements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills to effectively deal with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to be a strategic thinker who is willing and able to be hands on when needed.
  • Well-developed organization skills, including the ability to handle many details and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment while upholding quality standards.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel & Access.
  • Excellent independent judgement and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions with little direction.


  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment in a culturally diverse workplace.
  • 25% domestic travel, 5% international travel required


Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $90,400 - $120,100 plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
