Job Description:

The HVAC/R Technician III performs advanced HVAC and refrigeration maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and system optimization activities within GMP manufacturing and facility environments. This role serves as a highly skilled technician capable of independently diagnosing complex HVAC/R issues, supporting system reliability initiatives, and ensuring compliance with GMP, environmental, and safety requirements. The position also provides a developmental pathway toward advanced controls, automation, and building systems expertise

  • Perform all HVAC/R Technician I and II responsibilities.
  • Independently diagnose and repair complex HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Support refrigeration system performance including troubleshooting compressors, evaporators, condensers, and associated equipment.
  • Apply advanced refrigerant handling practices in accordance with EPA 608 requirements.
  • Perform shaft alignment on rotating HVAC and associated equipment to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Support HVAC system performance optimization and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Document maintenance, repair activities, and system performance within SAP CMMS.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC-integrated systems including utilities and supporting building systems.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and reliability enhancements.
  • The following responsibilities reflect advanced experience typically associated with progression beyond Technician III and are preferred but not required:
  • Support and operate SCADA and BAS systems used to monitor and control HVAC and facility equipment.
  • Perform vibration analysis and predictive maintenance activities to identify early equipment failures.
  • Perform plumbing and pipefitting work related to HVAC installations, modifications, and repairs.
  • Support advanced controls troubleshooting and automation-related diagnostics.
  • Lead system optimization and energy efficiency improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Utilities, and Facilities teams on system improvements and reliability initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend long-term equipment reliability improvements and system upgrades.

Qualifications: (delete header and add bullets)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Heating Mechanics I License preferred.
  • Completion of approximately 3,600-4,500 hours of HVAC experience or training preferred.
  • 4-7+ years of HVAC or mechanical maintenance experience
  • EPA 608 Certification required.
  • Completion of approximately 2,700 hours of HVAC experience or training.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R systems. (Derived from the Technician III responsibilities.)
  • Experience with SCADA, BAS, controls systems, or automation platforms preferred.
  • Experience in GMP or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience supporting predictive maintenance and reliability programs preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC/R systems and controls integration
  • Proficiency in vibration analysis and predictive maintenance concepts
  • Skill in plumbing and pipefitting practices for HVAC systems
  • Advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Understanding of integrated utilities and HVAC system interactions
  • SAP CMMS proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and system reliability focus
  • Ability to work independently on complex systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Work may occur in GMP production areas, mechanical rooms, rooftops, utility spaces, and facility common areas.
  • Work may involve exposure to temperature variation, noise, vibration, dust, odors, chemicals, refrigerants, lubricants, and cleaning agents when proper controls and PPE are used.
  • Role may require adherence to gowning, PPE, lockout/tagout, hot work, refrigerant handling, and other site safety procedures.
  • Work may require response to equipment issues that impact facility reliability, comfort, safety, or compliance.

Other Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, reach, and work in mechanical or facility spaces.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull tools, parts, equipment, or materials within site safety guidelines.
  • Ability to climb ladders or use lifts/mobile equipment as required for maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work in confined or elevated areas when properly trained and authorized.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.

Location: Spokane, WA - On Site, Full- -Time

Shift: Weekend Nights - Friday-Sunday + E/O Thursday - 6pm-6am

Hiring Wage: $32.01 - $37.65 per hour + 15% shift differential, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
