Job Title: Template Analyst

Location(s):San Francisco, CA
(Hybrid)

Job Summary:
Seeking a Template Analyst with hands-on experience in Epic Cadence scheduling template build and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience managing provider scheduling templates, evaluating decision tree impacts, onboarding clinicians, and improving patient access. Epic Cadence Certification is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Cadence scheduling templates.
  • Manage provider and ancillary scheduling templates within Epic.
  • Process and prioritize incoming provider scheduling template change requests.
  • Analyze the impact of template changes on scheduling decision trees.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational scheduling standards and change control policies.
  • Support provider onboarding and scheduling optimization initiatives.
  • Analyze provider utilization reports to improve scheduling capacity and patient access.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, clinic leadership, and IT teams to improve scheduling workflows.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, workflow analyses, functional specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling issues and provide end-user support.
  • Identify and proactively resolve barriers affecting ambulatory access and patient flow.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for scheduling template design, build, and maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience building and managing Epic Cadence scheduling templates.
  • Experience processing provider scheduling template change requests.
  • Understanding of Epic scheduling decision trees and template dependencies.
  • Experience supporting clinician onboarding and scheduling optimization.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and ambulatory scheduling operations.
  • Ability to analyze provider utilization and scheduling data.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Epic Cadence Certification.
  • Experience supporting ambulatory clinics within a large healthcare organization.
  • Experience with provider capacity planning and template optimization.
  • Familiarity with clinical systems change management and governance.

Role Scope:

  • Independently supports small to medium-sized projects involving Epic scheduling templates.
  • Applies professional clinical application concepts within established policies and procedures.
  • Exercises judgment within defined guidelines to determine appropriate actions.

Department Overview:
The Ambulatory Capacity Management team supports a large multi-specialty physician practice by designing, building, and maintaining physician and advanced practice provider scheduling templates. The team partners with clinic leadership, Patient Care Access, and Information Technology to improve patient access, optimize provider capacity, maintain scheduling standards, and support organizational change control processes while delivering a high level of customer service.

Preferred Certification:

  • Epic Cadence Certification (preferred, not required).

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM PST.
  • Hybrid role.
  • Onsite at Emeryville and/or multiple client locations for 1-3 consecutive days, approximately 2-4 times per year.
