Overview

ENERCON is expanding its Corporate Quality organization and seeking a Quality Engineer to support and strengthen our Quality Management System across a diverse and technically complex portfolio of work.

In high-stakes environments, quality isn't just a box to check - it's a reputation to defend. As a Quality Engineer at ENERCON, you will safeguard that reputation by embedding quality into processes, decisions, and deliverables from project inception through execution.

This role can be based in any ENERCON office location, and possibly remote within the US for senior level candidates.


Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer plays a critical role within ENERCON's Quality Management System and Quality Assurance Program. This role places a strong emphasis on auditing internal operations, suppliers, and project execution activities.

While nuclear quality experience is preferred, ENERCON values candidates with strong experience auditing operational and engineering processes in regulated or technically complex environments. This role is ideal for a mid-level or senior quality professional who is confident making independent, requirement-based decisions and influencing quality at an enterprise level.

  • Auditing & Compliance: Plan and perform internal audits and external supplier audits and surveillances as a certified Lead Auditor. Exercise independent judgment to enforce requirements and stop nonconforming work when necessary
  • Contract & Requirement Review: Review purchase orders, contracts, task orders, and agreements to ensure appropriate flow-down of quality requirements
  • Quality Systems & Procedures: Review, revise, and improve quality procedures supporting the quality system, engineering, and project management. Support continuous improvement of ENERCON's Quality Management System and Quality Assurance Program
  • Corrective Action & Root Cause: Prepare, issue, and manage Corrective Action Reports using ENERCON's Performance Tracking System. Perform or support causal analysis and verify corrective action effectiveness
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement, and operations teams to resolve quality issues #LI-MB1

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline, or equivalent technical training/work experience
  • 6 plus years of quality assurance experience in a highly regulated or engineering consulting-driven environments
  • The ideal candidate will have worked for an engineering/design consulting firm providing quality support
  • Must have knowledge of standards such as 10 CFR Part 21, 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B, ASME/ANSI NQA-1, and ISO 9001
  • Prior experience as a Lead Auditor; NQA-1 Subpart 3.1 qualification highly preferred
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, auditing techniques, and corrective action processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering technical documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Must be a US Citizen due to federal contract requirements

Compensation Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
