Overview

Manages a team that analyzes business needs and supports related projects. Leads continuous improvement of systems and documentation impacting operations. Collaborates with stakeholders and development teams to assess user needs and requirements, identify risks, and drive process improvements aligned with business strategy. Defines scope and objectives for planning, needs analysis, and risk assessments, providing recommendations to enhance operational effectiveness.

    Leads and develops business analysis staff, overseeing hiring, training, performance management, and professional development
  • Prioritizes and assigns work to business analysts based on organizational priorities, project demand, resource capacity, and team expertise
  • Monitors deliverables to ensure quality, completeness, timeliness, and adherence to organizational and regulatory standards
  • Establishes and maintains business analysis standards, templates, documentation practices, process models, and quality expectations across projects
  • Collaborates with leadership, project management, operations, IT, compliance, and other stakeholders to align business analysis activities with strategic goals
  • Oversees requirements processes, including elicitation, validation, traceability, and change control, to ensure business needs are accurately captured and delivered
  • Facilitates stakeholder alignment and resolves conflict across business requirements, priorities, risks, and dependencies
  • Drives change management activities, including impact assessments, stakeholder communication, adoption planning, training, and post-implementation evaluation
  • Develops and tracks key performance indicators and metrics to measure business analysis effectiveness, process improvement, and operational impact
  • Identifies opportunities to improve business analysis methodologies, tools, workflows, and cross-functional collaboration.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analysis, or related field from an accredited college or university and ten (10) or more years of experience in business analysis, working with developers, project and release managers; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:

International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) certification, Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, or Six Sigma certification preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to lead, mentor, motivate, and develop a team of business analysts
  • Knowledge of business analysis frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, including requirements management, process modeling, stakeholder analysis, and solution evaluation
  • Ability to establish standards, governance, and quality controls for business analysis deliverables
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, conflict resolution, and consensus building skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, resource constraints, and cross-functional project demands
  • Ability to translate organizational strategy into actionable business analysis plans and deliverables
  • Knowledge of change management principles and user adoption practices.
  • Ability to use data, metrics, and reporting to evaluate process performance and support decision-making
  • Skill in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, and related business analysis or project management tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds).
