Job Summary

The Data Center Project Manager is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle for large-scale low voltage, structured cabling, and network infrastructure projects. This role oversees project planning, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, installation, quality assurance, and project closeout while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to client expectations. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers, internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining operational excellence throughout every phase of the project.

Job Responsibilities




  • Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects from preconstruction through project closeout.



  • Execute assigned project objectives, milestones, and performance goals.



  • Participate in project planning and operational review meetings.



  • Follow established operational processes throughout presales, planning, execution, project closeout, and post-installation activities.



  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.



  • Monitor project progress to ensure milestones, timelines, and financial objectives are achieved.



  • Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation and corrective action plans.



  • Manage project change control processes and secure approved change orders.



  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure quality workmanship and timely project completion.



  • Oversee quality assurance throughout all phases of project delivery.



  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure data integrity across project management systems.



  • Coordinate contract documents, purchase orders, proposals, budgets, and project financial records.



  • Manage project billing schedules and support timely invoicing.



  • Review project budgets, financial performance, project metrics, accounts receivable, pending awards, and scheduling updates on a regular basis.



  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities for future business.



  • Communicate project status effectively with customers, leadership, and project stakeholders.




Job Requirements




  • 5-10 years of project management experience supporting large-scale low voltage, structured cabling, network infrastructure, colocation, or data center projects.



  • Proven experience managing commercial or mission-critical infrastructure projects from planning through completion.



  • Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and multiple project stakeholders.



  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.



  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and time management skills.



  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.



  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.



  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.



  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.



  • Knowledge of voice, data, fiber optic, wireless, and structured cabling installation projects.



  • PMI/PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.



  • RCDD certification is preferred but not required.



  • Ability to stand and walk active construction job sites.




Education




  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
