SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is seeking a dependable and experienced General Manager to lead our Industrial Fabrication team in York, PA. This role is responsible for the overall operation and success of the fabrication division, including estimating, detailing, project management, production, safety, quality, staffing, equipment utilization, and customer relationships. The General Manager works closely with team members across the organization to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget while supporting the continued growth of the business. The General Manager will report directly to the President of Industrial.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication operations, project management, and team leadership. They will be able to effectively manage multiple priorities, support employee development, maintain high standards of safety and quality, and contribute to the division's overall performance and success.

Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Lead and support the overall operations of the fabrication division, including production, project execution, staffing, safety, quality, and financial performance.
  • Oversee shop fabrication activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with estimating, engineering, detailing, project management, and field operations to support successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project schedules, costs, labor utilization, productivity, and profitability, and address issues that may impact performance.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, revenue planning, and tracking division performance against established goals.
  • Support business development efforts by maintaining customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and participating in client meetings as needed.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain quality standards throughout fabrication operations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Hire, develop, and mentor employees while supporting workforce planning, training, and leadership development efforts.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and help resolve concerns to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Support long-term growth of the division through operational improvements, equipment planning, and process enhancements.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability, safety, and quality workmanship.



REQUIREMENTS



    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or related field preferred.
    • 10+ years of industrial and commercial fabrication experience.
    • 5+ years of leadership or management experience.
    • Proven experience managing fabrication operations and project execution.
    • Strong understanding and working knowledge of structural steel, plate fabrication, welding, miscellaneous metals, and industrial construction practices.
    • Familiarity with AWS, AISC, OSHA, and other applicable industry standards.
    • Experience using ERP systems, scheduling software, estimating software, and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
    • Understanding of budgeting, financial performance, and operational efficiency.
    • Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and employees.
    • Experience leading teams, supporting employee development, and promoting a safe, quality-focused work environment.
    • Success in this role will be measured by project performance, productivity, safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and team development.
