Job Title: Clerk/Sorter FLSA Status: Part Time - non-exempt Schedule: TBD Supervises: N/A Rate of Pay: $15.20 Closing Date: 08/07/2026 Benefits: Standard; Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:
Position Summary The Clerk/Sorter position will be responsible for the process of accepting donations and getting everything out on the sales floor. Running the cash register when scheduled. Keeping the store friendly and clean. Dealing with customers, and helping to take charge of volunteers and community service workers. Duties and Responsibilities * Sort all donations and make sure they make it to the right department. * Will be well versed in all departments for donation. * Must follow the daily cleaning list. * Will stock the sales floor as directed and maintain proper categories and colors. * Will price items correctly as directed by the management team. * Will treat customers with respect and be courteous. * Will assist with store operations to include operating the POS System. * Will preform other duties assigned by the store manager/Director of retail and Corps Officer. * Will help with paperwork at night and bank deposits. * Be in charge when store manager is out sick or on vacation. Education/Experience * Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent Skills * Possess good customer service skills. * Able to follow verbal and written direction * Needs to understand excel and word documents Qualities * Must be at least 18 years old. * Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time. * Supportive of The Salvation Army's mission * Able to reflect and model the high standards of our organization Requirements Background Check * Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies Physical * Ability to maneuver, to remain in a stationary position, to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead, to lift 25 pounds, to access and produce information from the computer, to operate telephone, to understand written information * Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
