As a Specialty Services Technician (SST), you will act as Trusted Advisor to STERIS Customers in the service of cleaning and conditioning large hospital sterilizer equipment, as part of a high performing national team focused on delivering Specialty Services to STERIS and competitor equipment. You'll provide on-site cleaning services and simple maintenance on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic units within hospitals and surgery centers.

In this role, you will pro-actively interact and communicate concerns, updates, repairs, and service enhancement opportunities with Customers, Field Service partners and the contract administration team.

This is asafetysensitive position.

What You Will Do as a Specialty Service Technician
  • Communicatewith Customers on preventative cleaning needs,scheduleand equipment details (arrival, service status, completion, next steps).PromoteSterilizer services.
  • Perform sterilizer cleaning functions,including changingchemical ingredients,makingadjustments tonecessary chemicals,maintainingappropriate pressures,handle/transport/dispose of chemicals used insterilizer cleaning,according to safety protocols.
  • Work closely with the Scheduling Team, Supervisor and Customer to plan efficient service routes within assigned territory, and adhere to all coverage, and servicestandards.
  • Responsible forCompany vehicle, equipment, and supplies and parts inventory, includingappropriate maintenanceand escalation of issues for safe, effective operation.
Travel within this role

This is a field service role with very frequent travel, most of which is in a company van that you'll keep at home. The territory covered is generally within a few hours' drive, but occasional travel to other territories, sometimes by plane, will also be required. The work hours in this full-time role will include some weekend days, and shifts can vary between morning, afternoon, and night. A high degree of flexibility is required to accommodate our Customer needs.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of work experience, at least 1 year of which must be technical or service-related work (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, automotive etc.)
  • In lieu ofHigh SchoolDiploma or GED, must have anAssociatesdegree, or related certifications or military experience, may be considered towards minimum years of work experience.
  • Customer service experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work flexible hours (mostly outside "normal business hours," including overtime and weekends), with up to 75% travel overnight.
  • Field Service experiencestrongly preferred

Pay range for this opportunity is$46,962.50-$60,775.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
