Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Scientist.

In this role, the successful candidate The NYU Genome Technology Core (GTC) is a fee-for-service laboratory operated
by OSR as a state-of-the-art shared resource for biomedical researchers. The GTC staff scientists develop
and provide their knowledge and expertise to the research community at NYULH in a broad variety of
genomics research and applications.

Job Responsibilities:

Principal Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for 10x single cell RNAseq preps and associated applications including Multiome and TCR/BCR 10x preps, Illumina scRNASeq preps and other modalities of sc preps. Responsible for meetings with students and PI to give accurate sample submission information prior to running experiments. 2. Responsible for library preps for spatial transcriptomics and other spatial technologies. 3. Responsible for the operation of lab automation for the set-up of library preps. 4. Prepare and normalize a variety of library types for pooling and sequencing. 5. Training of Junior staff technician to perform a variety of library preps including scRNAseq, 6. Responsible for on-boarding new library prep and sequencing technologies to the GTC. 7. Technologies will be identified via scientific literature, conferences, trade shows, sales representatives, email notifications etc. Equipment and protocols will be validated in-house 8. Responsible for the training of GTC personnel in these newly implemented technologies and methodologies. 9. Ensures timely and accurate completion of research projects and data delivery. 10. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the advances in technology and applications for genomics research through attendance of scientific conferences, webinars, etc. 11. Responsible for data entry into the iLab system and Benchling. 12. Participates and performs other related duties as required. The qualified candidate will be expected to learn to operate the sequencers.

COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS 1. Excels in cooperation, collaboration and communication with all NYULH employees 2. Communicates directly with PIs and other scientists, coordinates delivery of results to outside collaborators also. 3. Communicates carefully with others in order to respond appropriately, to answer questions and obtains requested information. 4. Communicates ideas, problems, suggestions, and messages in a timely and effective manner. 5. Maintains the confidentiality of all research information.

JUDGEMENT / DECISION-MAKING 1. Is able to recognize problems as they occur, and through the application of appropriate policy/procedure, determines and/or recommends the appropriate solution. 2. Must be able to troubleshoot. 3. Seeks guidance as necessary for the performance of duties; asks appropriate questions when in doubt and utilizes reference sources/materials to ensure accuracy. 4. Advises appropriate personnel of situations/problems requiring intervention or follow-up attention.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a MS degree and 2-4 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in immunology, cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry,
computational biology or related fields with >3 years of post-MS or post-PhD research experience. Has a
thorough and demonstrable knowledge of instrumentation and analysis of genomics/genetics systems.
Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills. Outstanding communication and customer-based skills.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $81,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
