JOB SUMMARY

The Chemical Operator Lead serves as the senior field operator and technical resource for chemical operations personnel. This position interfaces with client leadership daily and provides guidance and leadership to craft personnel. The Chemical Operator Lead ensures work is to meet client, operational, and regulatory requirements while promoting safe and efficient work practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Evaluate chemical delivery performance across the field.

  • Data entry utilizing Chemical Data Base applications.

  • Deliver quality presentations internally and externally of contract performance.

  • Utilize written and oral communication to employees, management, and client representatives.

  • Review project proposals and plans to determine timeframe, staffing requirements, and procedures to accomplish the work.

  • Assist with onboarding, training, and development of personnel.

  • Coordinate daily work activities and work with AES leadership to ensure operational coverage.

  • Prepare project reports for management and customer review.

  • Adjust flow rates and operate valves, pumps, and hydraulic lines to feed chemical into well lines, process lines and sales lines to meet recommended targets.

  • Troubleshoot chemical system issues through process of elimination and knowledge of chemical system components.

  • Monitor all chemical equipment and recommend modifications and changes as required.

  • Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure proper equipment operation.

  • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area.

  • Required to work independently, or as a team, assessing current chemical system status of assigned locations to determine workload for the day.

  • Effectively manage daily activities and scheduling to meet injection rate targets and maintenance requirements on a weekly basis.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and capability in Energy Isolation plan development and execution to meet client requirements prior to completing system maintenance.

  • Accurately report chemical flow rate actuals against target rates, system maintenance activities, and current system conditions.

  • Provide daily reporting on system status and recommendations for further maintenance required to maintain injection targets.

  • Complete chemical system maintenance when component PMs or failures occur.

  • Perform SkoFlo Metering Valve maintenance, including disassembly, inspection, reassembly with replacement parts as required, and pressure testing prior to returning equipment to service.

  • Maintain SkoFlo documentation and parts inventory.

  • Act as Tubing Fitter helper where needed.

  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

  • Support AES's zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

  • Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Driving record must meet Company requirements.

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in corrosion, inspection, and/or chemical operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead work activities and provide technical guidance in a field environment

  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Specific experience supporting chemical injection systems utilizing SkoFlo Metering Valves in the oil and gas industry and arctic environments preferred.

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with Hazardous Material endorsement preferred.

  • Knowledge of bulk chemical storage, deployment, injection, and maintenance of chemical systems preferred.

  • Experience mentoring, training, or leading field personnel preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee's ability to safely meet job standards.
