Web Content Coordinator

General Summary of Position:

The Web Content Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the UMass Lowell website, ensuring content is clear, current, accurate, accessible and consistent with university's mission and branding initiatives. This position requires a range of editorial and project management skill, as well as knowledge of web technology.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):



  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications or a related field
  • Five years of experience in communications, marketing, or related areas, with prior experience writing for the web
  • Experience using web content management systems


Additional Considerations:



  • Strong grammatical and editing skills with knowledge of Associated Press style
  • Ability to write, speak and use images to clearly and persuasively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience optimizing sites for search engine rankings
  • Familiarity with web best practices and user experience, including accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of interactive technologies including blogs, social media and video
  • Experience working on large-scale, high-visibility projects
  • Familiarity with coding in HTML, XML and/or CSS languages
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite; MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Google Suite
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities required

This is full-time, benefited and in the SEIU professional union in grade P17. Anticipated salary based on qualifications/experience within the range. Minimum $65,693, 25th quartile $74,725 and midpoint $83,758.
