SkyWater Technology is hiring an experienced semiconductor equipment engineer in the area of Chemical Mechanical Polish (CMP) at its Austin, TX location. The equipment engineer will be responsible for maintaining the existing equipment, ensuring metrics are met and also drive equipment improvements. Areas of improvement may include resolving systematic availability issues, improving preventative maintenance procedures, qualifying second source parts, or installing and qualifying new equipment. Along with applicable technical knowledge, candidates will need to possess strong troubleshooting skills along with ability to conduct statistical analysis on data.



Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for one or more CMP equipment sets in the areas of STI, W, Oxide, or Cu
  • Work hands-on in the fab alongside equipment/process technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve tool issues


  • Maintain and improve tool controls using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Fault Detection Control (FDC)
  • Work with the maintenance team to develop, maintain, and improve maintenance procedures, ensure parts availability, and drive plans and actions on non-standard equipment issues
  • Work with the process and industrial engineers to improve tool availability, throughput, and utilization
  • Develop and execute plans to drive down overall costs while ensuring high quality
  • Work on cross functional teams to address equipment related defect and yield issues



Requirements:



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related disciplines preferred
  • 3-5 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with chemical mechanical polish at a semiconductor company desired
  • The ability to handle challenging work with time constraints
  • Skills:


    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause problem solving abilities
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, and electrical schematics
    • Skilled at communicating priorities through dashboards and reports
    • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Good computer hardware and software skills


  • Shift: Position is on-site, M-F from 7:30am-4:30pm
