Our client is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team in Ringwood, IL . In this full-time role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial control networks to support efficient and reliable manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies in a collaborative engineering environment. The Controls Engineer will support and optimize plant automation systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in improving equipment reliability, production efficiency, and system performance while leading automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Design, program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial control networks Diagnose and resolve automation issues to maximize equipment uptime Lead control system upgrades, new equipment integration, and automation projects Support IT/OT integration, industrial cybersecurity, and network reliability Partner with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve manufacturing performance Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and electrical codes Train plant personnel and support continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Controls, or a related field 4+ years of controls or automation experience in a manufacturing environment Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial control networks Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills Chemical manufacturing experience and IT/OT cybersecurity knowledge are a plus The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role.
