TheFacilitiesEngineeris responsible for supporting the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement offacilityand utility systems that support aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role ensures systems operate in compliance with cGMP, regulatory, and safety requirements while maintaining production continuity. TheFacilitiesEngineerpartners crossfunctionally withEngineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Maintenance teams and serves as a technical contributor within the sitefacilitiesorganization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support operation and maintenance offacilityand utility systems supporting aseptic manufacturing (e.g., HVAC, clean utilities, building infrastructure).
  • Assist in monitoring system performance to ensure environmental and operational conditions meet manufacturing and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support for routine operations, troubleshooting, and minor system improvements.
  • Ensurefacilitiesand utilities are operated and maintained in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and global regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits and inspections; provide technical documentation and SME input as needed.
  • Partner with Quality and Validation to support qualification and validation activities and maintain systems in a qualified state.
  • Support investigations related to deviations, alarms, and system performance issues impacting manufacturing.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Escalate complex technical issues appropriately and support resolution efforts.
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities in collaboration with Maintenance and external service providers.
  • Review maintenance data and trends to help identify opportunities for reliability and performance improvements.
  • Support updates to SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance strategies.
  • Support capital and expense projects related tofacilityor utility upgrades, expansions, or optimization.
  • Participate in change control activities and reviewengineering documentation and drawings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
  • Partner with Manufacturing,Engineering, Quality, Validation, and EHS to ensurefacilitysystems meet production needs.
  • Support risk assessments, including contamination control and environmental impact evaluations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to align priorities and resolve issues.
  • Support oversight of vendors and contractors performingfacilityor utility work.
  • Ensure work is executed safely, compliantly, and in accordance with site procedures and expectations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanicalengineering, ChemicalEngineering,FacilitiesEngineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience infacilitiesengineering, utilities, or plantengineering within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting aseptic manufacturing or cleanroom environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge offacilityand utility systems (e.g., HVAC, building systems, clean utilities).
  • Understanding of cGMP requirements, validation principles, and regulatory expectations.
  • Familiarity with deviation management, change control, and CAPA processes.
  • Experience using CMMS systems and supporting maintenance planning.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detailoriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Onsite presence required in manufacturing, cleanroom, and technical areas.
  • May require offhours or oncall support for criticalfacilityor utility issues.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $115,000, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to 120 hours in the first four (4) years of employment, and 160 hours in the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as 15 paid holidays per year.
