Summary:

The Specialist works primarily with the Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator/Manager and Occupational Health staff. Coordinates the CCHCS workers' compensation program. Implements the WC program according to established policy, rules and regulations. Process and provide timely notification and communication with employees, supervisors, and insurance carrier regarding workers' compensation claims.

Participate in Occupational Injury Prevention and accident/incident investigations of employee injuries, employee return to work, accommodation, and clearance. Assist with compiling reports and analysis of Occupational Health data including: Solutions for Patient Safety Projects (SPS). The employee should have the ability to manage time, identify and provide appropriate metrics and reports as needed, and accurately manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred from an accredited college preferably in Human Resources, Business, Risk or Safety/ Industrial Hygiene.
    Degree waived with industry claims certification or extensive experience in WC claims area, Employee Safety, ARM or CPCU accreditation.
  • 2 years' experience in degree field.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

  • BCSP, Workers' Compensation claims certification or specialist designation a plus.
