Position Overview:

The Donor Experience Manager is responsible for creating and managing positive, meaningful interactions between donors and PBS to increase donor satisfaction, retention, engagement, and lifetime giving. The Manager, Donor Experience develops and implements strategies that ensure donors feel valued, informed, and connected to PBS and our mission. The incumbent in this role serves as a bridge between fundraising, marketing, programs, and donor services to deliver an exceptional donor journey.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Stewardship & Engagement

  • Work with fundraisers to develop opportunities for donors and prospective donors to connect with PBS leadership and talent.

  • Deliver information to donors about the work of PBS in a timely and meaningful manner.

  • Collaborate with the programming teams to design experiences around our programs and services.

  • Create donor engagement opportunities, including events, tours, webinars, and volunteer experiences.

Donor Journey Management

  • Map and optimize the donor lifecycle from acquisition through renewal and upgrade.

  • Identify opportunities to improve donor satisfaction and retention.

  • Monitor donor touchpoints to ensure a seamless donor experience.

Communications

  • Collaborate with marketing and fundraising teams to develop donor-centered communications.

  • Produce impact reports, newsletters, and stewardship materials.

  • Ensure messaging reflects donor interests and organizational priorities.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Track donor engagement, retention, and satisfaction metrics.

  • Analyze donor behavior and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain accurate donor records and stewardship plans within the CRM.

Requirements for success:

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, or related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, customer experience, or nonprofit development.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent project management and relationship-building abilities.

The base pay range for this position at the beginning of employment is expected to be between $75,000 and $85,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements for eligible employees, including: (i) eligibility for discretionary bonuses; (ii) various insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance; (iii) identity protection program; (iv) employee assistance program; (v) financial and retirement savings benefits including the PBS Retirement Plan 403(b); (vi) paid time off (17 days per year), paid sick time benefits (12 days per year), paid parental leave (60 days / 12 weeks ), and paid holidays (12 days per year).
