Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, test, and refine programs for our CNC tube and rod bending and fabrication equipment. This role sits at the center of our production process - - translating customer prints and specifications into precise, repeatable programs that our operators run every day.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of hands-on experience on the shop floor of a metalworking facility, is familiar with the equipment used in metal fabrication, and can confidently set up and program a variety of different machines. We're looking for someone with broad shop experience and, most importantly, a genuine eagerness to troubleshoot and keep learning.
If you have experience serving clients who require tight tolerances and consistent quality on production runs - or you're ready to grow into that kind of work - this role will be a great fit.
Responsibilities:
  • Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs for tube and rod bending and fabrication equipment, using both manual programming and offline programming software
  • Interpret blueprints, customer specifications, and tolerance requirements to build programs that meet exact production standards
  • Perform machine set-ups and change-overs across a variety of CNC and fabrication equipment
  • Conduct precision quality checks throughout production runs to confirm parts meet dimensional and tolerance requirements
  • Prove out new programs on the floor, making adjustments to fine-tune cycle time, accuracy, and repeatability
  • Train and support machine operators on program use, set-up standards, and quality checks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production floor engineering issues as they arise, minimizing downtime
  • Maintain accurate documentation of programs, set-up sheets, and revisions for repeat jobs
  • Partner with quality and production teams to drive continuous improvement in process and output
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience on the shop floor of a metalworking or metal fabrication facility
  • Experience with 3D Mastercam programing on horizontal 3 axis and vertical (regular and swiss style) CNC
  • Working knowledge of CNC tube/rod bending and fabrication equipment and programming
  • Ability to learn and perform set-ups across a variety of different machines
  • Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills (calipers, micrometers, CMM, or similar)
  • A track record of troubleshooting production issues independently and collaboratively
  • Experience training or mentoring other operators is a plus
  • Comfort working with tight tolerances in a repeatable, high-quality production environment
  • Visionary with the ability to move the vision forward
