Job Summary:

Systems Administrator II is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of network systems on premises and cloud-based systems infrastructure. This role manages server environments, virtualization platforms, cloud services, enterprise applications, and identity systems to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability across the organization. Systems Administrator II operates effectively in a hybrid environment spanning VMware on-premises infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365, and serves as a key technical resource for day-to-day systems operations, application support, and infrastructure projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Systems & Server Administration



  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services in a hybrid on premises/cloud configuration.
  • Manage VMware vSphere/vCenter infrastructure including VM provisioning, resource allocation, snapshot management, and host maintenance.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability across physical and virtual servers; proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Perform OS patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle management for physical and virtual servers.
  • Maintain and support storage systems, including SAN/NAS administration, volume management, and performance monitoring.


Cloud & Identity Administration



  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive; manage tenant configuration, licensing, and user provisioning.
  • Maintain Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for user and group lifecycle management, role assignments, and application integrations.
  • Manage Microsoft Intune for endpoint enrollment, compliance policies, and application deployment across Windows and mobile devices.
  • Support Azure cloud resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, Azure Files, and Entra-registered applications.
  • Administer hybrid identity configurations including Entra Connect sync, hybrid join, and SSO integrations.


Application & System Support



  • Administer and support enterprise business applications, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and vendor coordination.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and license assignments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Support application integrations and troubleshoot cross-system issues between on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Coordinate with application vendors and internal stakeholders to plan and execute system upgrades and migrations.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding workflows, ensuring timely provisioning and deprovisioning across all systems.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in systems administration with demonstrated experience across both on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Strong proficiency with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter virtualization administration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and hybrid identity configurations.
  • Experience with enterprise backup platforms; Veeam experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation of administrative and operational tasks.
  • Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage administration and general networking concepts (VLANs, DNS, TCP/IP).
  • Microsoft certifications (MS-102, AZ-104, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to document technical configurations clearly.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:



  • Position may require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, and bending; the ability to push, pull, drag and/or lift up to 35 pounds; manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination; repetitive hand movement using a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $95,000 to $119,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

You also will be able to participate in a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k company match, company paid life insurance and health and wellness benefits. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company's discretionary annual bonus program.
