This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, Tennessee, or Harrison, Arkansas. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight location several times per week.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Plan, develop, analyze, evaluate and implement compensation programs, policies and administrative procedures; ensure equitable and competitive reward systems; stay apprised of compensation related laws and regulations; ensure compliance with legislative requirements, company policies and procedures. Serve as an internal consultant to assigned matrix group in areas of salary administration and interpretation of compensation programs, policies and procedures

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Research, plan, develop, evaluate and implement compensation programs, policies and procedures.
  • Administer all compensation programs, to include but not limited to, performance evaluation process, incentive and recognitiion award programs.
  • Investigate compensation related issues and problems, analyze findings, determine appropriate course of action and provide guidance/counsel to management, recommend appropriate corrective or alternative actions; interpret and communicate compensation policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and execution of compensation processes and initiatives, i.e., annual review, incentive plans, competitive and ad hoc analyses, projects and reporting for assigned matrix area
  • Develop and/or participate in compensation surveys designed to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position, formulate recommendations regarding adjustments to company pay structures/schedules
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improving the effectiveness of compensation department, to include but not limited to developing creative techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data, designing and delivering compensation-related training programs, assisting in the development of communications Lead and complete assigned projects, including but not limited to, formulate project plan, coordinate resources, schedule meetings and monitor completion of tasks.
  • Facilitate and particiate in discussions utilizing individual expertise and knowledge; audit compensation related transactions for accuracy and compliance; maintain monthly, quarterly, annual compensation related reports and distribute to management;
  • Review pay adjustment and equity pay requests, conduct appropriate analyses and submit recommendation to compensation management for review/approval
  • Perform cost analyses for current and recommended compensation programs and program design changes to include merit increases, AIC cost, GPD costing, etc.
  • Perform other ad hoc costing analyses as required
  • Serve as resource and mentor to Compensation Analysts in issue/problem-resolution
  • Provide assistance in developing new and/or revising job descriptions, determine appropriate pay grade assignment applying appropriate job evaluation techniques, maintain appropriate documentation, update/maintain job description files and ensure appropriate FLSA classification
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Finance, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline plus five (5) years in compensation, financial analysis, statistical analysis or quantitative related experience
  • Experience in design, analysis and administration of compensation programs
  • Professional accreditation (CCP, PHR or SPHR) preferred
  • Excellent consulting skills - ability to influence and negotiate with all levels of management and employees
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Workday systems
  • Proficient with various PC applications, including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple assignments and prioritize workflow with keen attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of compensation related policies, practices, procedures and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of State, Federal and local wage & hour laws
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and handle complex issues
