DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the processing of petitions and records that affect driving privileges and ensures accurate workflow throughout the unit. The role involves careful review of documents and consistent communication with both staff and customers. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:

  • Eligibility Review: Examine petitions and driver records to determine whether customers qualify for an Ignition Interlock Limited License
  • Data Processing: Enter petition information and update driver records based on forms and documents received from customers
  • Work Coordination: Track incoming work, log mail items, and distribute assignments according to priority and workflow needs
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain required accuracy levels while assisting in training staff and providing feedback on correct procedures
  • Fee Management: Apply the correct fee waiver codes and ensure that all fees are processed or forwarded within established timeframes
  • Customer Interaction: Respond to questions from customers and staff by reviewing records and providing clear information via telephone

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Possibility of voluntary or mandatory overtime
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
