THE POSITION

As a Clerical Assistant 1 with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, you will take part in meaningful work that supports drivers and vehicle services across the state. This position will allow you to develop strong scanning, organizing, and problem-solving skills. You will be part of a team that values accuracy, consistency, and high-quality service. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports document processing and storage functions that help maintain accurate Driver and Vehicle Services records. The work involves scanning, organizing, reviewing, and preparing documents for storage or electronic use. As a Clerical Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Document Preparation: Review and prepare documents for scanning by removing staples, unfolding pages, and checking for issues
  • Imaging Tasks: Operate scanning equipment, monitor image quality, and correct errors when needed
  • Equipment Care: Clean scanner parts and make minor adjustments to keep equipment working properly
  • Record Storage: Sort documents, prepare boxes, label materials, and move skids for storage or transport
  • Quality Review: Check scanned images for clarity and ensure documents are sorted into correct locations
  • Reporting Duties: Complete daily production reports and deliver checks or important items to the supervisor

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
