Job Summary

The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for supporting enterprise data governance, data quality, business analytics, and data management initiatives. This role partners with business and technical stakeholders to improve data governance practices, analyze enterprise data, maintain data quality standards, and develop documentation that supports organizational decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, experience with enterprise data management, and the ability to communicate complex data concepts effectively across cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities



  • Compile, analyze, and interpret data using statistical formulas and analytical methodologies.
  • Prepare business analytics, governance metrics, dashboards, and management reports.
  • Research enterprise data assets, data definitions, data lineage, system flows, and data usage.
  • Support enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives.
  • Perform data profiling, validation, and quality assessments to identify data issues and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with data cataloging, metadata management, and data documentation activities.
  • Support governance committee meetings by preparing documentation, reports, agendas, and meeting minutes.
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation, procedures, reference guides, and governance standards.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and improve data management processes.
  • Produce reports, summaries, and analytical findings to support business decision-making.
  • Monitor compliance with established data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Assist with enterprise data management initiatives and continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Perform additional data governance and analytical responsibilities as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Governance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience compiling, computing, and analyzing data using statistical formulas for business analytics or statistical studies.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data management principles, and data quality methodologies.
  • Experience with data quality management, data analysis, business analytics, and enterprise reporting.
  • Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data documentation.
  • Ability to research enterprise data assets and document business processes and data flows.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise Data Governance, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing statistical analysis, business analytics, or enterprise reporting.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data quality initiatives and governance programs preferred.
  • Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and business process documentation preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional business and technical stakeholders preferred.
  • Experience working in financial services, government, insurance, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
