The University of Arizona invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Coach, Men's Golf. The position reports to the Head Coach, Men's Golf and acts within the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 conference, and NCAA.

This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and travel for competition and recruiting.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assisting the head coach in recruiting high-level student-athlete(s) including managing calendars for contacts and evaluations, outbound calendar schedules, inbound recruiting visits.
  • Being able to run effective team and individual practice.
  • Demonstrating competency in player development.
  • Supervising and directing student-manager(s).
  • Oversee team travel using department systems and contacts.
  • Direct, manage, oversee, and execute home tournament operations.
  • Assist with scheduling of practices, competitions, and tournaments.
  • Assist with Academic Monitoring.
  • Supervising team and individual practice, including strength and conditioning sessions.
  • Adhering to NCAA, Big 12, and University of Arizona rules including proficiency in use of software systems to accurately document program's commitment to compliance.
  • Participating in community events and outreach.
  • Manage social media accounts and actively promote program's past, present and future; including use of software and technology used to distribute content to various stakeholders.
  • Budget accountability.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Competitive playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and travel as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in running golf tournaments.
  • Experience with recruiting elite Student-Athletes junior and collegiate levels.
  • Experience working with golf statistics and software programs to use analytics for player development.
  • Experience booking team and individual travel including airfare, rental vehicles, hotels, etc.
  • Equipment fitting experience, including use of TrackMan, GC Quad, and other golf technology systems for full swing and putting.
