Department Information
The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) is a 300,659 sq. ft. facility located on the West side of campus. The complex is a unique expansion of the existing swimming and diving venue built for the 1996 Olympic Games. Campus Recreation provides a premier recreation fitness center, aquatic center, recreation fields, and leadership challenge course for the Georgia Tech community. We offer programming that includes Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Fitness Instruction and Classes, and Outdoor Recreation.

Job Summary

Assists with organization, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the Competitive Sports Program including intramurals and club sports. Responsible for intramural team and officials' requirements and related disciplinary issues, hiring of student employees for Competitive Sports, and Competitive Sports Program risk management. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: students, student employees, sport-club coaches, and student groups. This position will supervise: Hires and oversees student employees.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Recruit, hire and train competitive sports employees to sustain intramural sports, club sports, and Tech Wreck operations

Job Duty 2 -
Provide guidance, support, and oversight for Club Sports and the Club Sports Executive Council to include leadership initiatives.

Job Duty 3 -
Co-direct and lead the day-to-day operations of the Tech Wreck Summer and Break Camps.

Job Duty 4 -
Address all intramural-related disciplinary issues and coordinate all extramural requirements for intramural teams and officials.

Job Duty 5 -
Manage reservations and game day operations for club sport activities including practice, competitions, and tournaments.

Job Duty 6 -
Provide recommendations for semester-based league offerings to meet the needs of the campus community.

Job Duty 7 -
Purchase and maintain all competitive sports equipment. Manage departmental vehicle fleet.

Job Duty 8 -
Ensure all Competitive Sports activities are following Georgia Tech and departmental risk management guidelines.

Job Duty 9 -
Provide oversight and implementation of employee payroll policies and procedures.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in recreation, sports management or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
CPR/FA Instructor or ability to be certified within 90 days of hire

Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
CPR, First Aid, and AED Instructor

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in Sport Administration, Exercise Science or related field

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
Experience with collegiate recreation Intramural Sports or Sport Club programming and/or advising. Must have working knowledge of a student official's training development program. Experience with developing and assessing student learning outcomes. Strong verbal and written communication skills; organizational skills; ability to work independently and part of a cohesive team. Demonstrated history of effective decision making skills and leadership development competencies. Demonstrated success managing, supervising, and mentoring student employees. Demonstrated integrity, ethics.

Salary range: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00
