Job Summary

Advantage Technical is seeking an experienced Automotive Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and validation of vehicle communication and safety systems for a leading global automotive OEM.

In this role, you will work across vehicle electronics, telematics, embedded systems, and network communications to ensure critical customer-facing features are designed, integrated, and validated successfully. The ideal candidate has experience with automotive electronic systems, ECU integration, vehicle networking, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the development, integration, and validation of vehicle communication and safety-related systems.
  • Define and maintain system architecture across electronic control units (ECUs), communication modules, and vehicle networks.
  • Develop and manage interfaces between vehicle electronic systems and connected vehicle technologies.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, validation, and supplier teams to ensure successful feature implementation.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate functionality, performance, reliability, and system integration.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable automotive standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support program launches by tracking milestones, identifying technical risks, and coordinating issue resolution.
  • Serve as a primary technical interface with suppliers and manage engineering deliverables.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for existing production systems and future product enhancements.


Qualifications

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, vehicle electronics, embedded systems, telematics, connected vehicle technologies, or ECU integration.
  • Experience with system integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of vehicle communication networks such as CAN, LIN, and/or Automotive Ethernet.
  • Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.


Preferred:



  • Experience with telematics, connected vehicle systems, emergency communication systems, or vehicle safety technologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion.
  • Knowledge of automotive functional safety, regulatory compliance, and validation processes.
  • Experience supporting vehicle launches, feature integration, or systems-level validation activities.
  • Experience with eCall, Automatic Crash Notification (ACN), SOS, or related emergency communication features.
