RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Patient Care for the Pediatric II (Adolescent) Unit at the New Brunswick campus. The Pediatric II (Adolescent) Unit is a 24-bed unit that provides specialized comprehensive care to adolescent patients and their families from 12 to 21 years of age with a wide range of complex medical and surgical diagnoses. The multidisciplinary team delivers high-quality family centered care to both acute and chronic populations and evidence-based treatment focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Assistant Director of Patient Care plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Patient Care in overseeing the delivery of high-quality, patient centered nursing services within a designated unit or department. This position combines clinical expertise, leadership, and administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient operations, staff development & engagement, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Assistant Director fosters a collaborative environment, promotes patient safety, and drives quality improvement initiatives while assisting in the management of daily operations and long-term strategic goals. This role is also responsible in assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and compliance. Qualifications: Required: BSN required At least 2-3 years leadership, charge, preceptor experience as a Registered Nurse with Pediatrics/Adolescent Experience Strong communication, organizational skills, and presentation skills Preferred: MSN highly preferred Previous experience as a nursing assistant director is preferred Certifications and Licenses Required: Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License BLS and PALS certification Certifications and Licenses Preferred: Pediatric professional certifications strongly preferred Scheduling Requirements: Full time Night Shift 80 hours - Three 12 hours shifts per week, and one 8 hours shift every other week Some Weekend coverage Required Essential Functions:
