Summary for Strategic Planner:

Position located at Tyndall AFB FL, Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC). DAWSON provides technical, engineering, and planning advisory and assistance services in support of the AFCEC, Readiness Directorate, Expeditionary Engineering Division to maximize capabilities in Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (BEEF), Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineer (RED HORSE), and expeditionary facilities/equipment/energy modernization programs. We provide Advisory and Assistance Support (A&AS) and associated deliverables in support of the AFCEC/CXX missions to include: Strategic Planning, Process Mapping, Continuous Improvement, Acquisition Support Services, Expeditionary Engineering and Emergency Services, Readiness, Pavements, and Training.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Assistance and deliver strategic planning tools such as change management in business redirection and enhancement; business management techniques; identification and deployment of measurement systems; program analysis, planning and development; process mapping, benchmarking and process migration and in-depth requirements analyses.
  • Facilitate and support efforts to develop, establish, implement and sustain leading-edge techniques and possess the expertise and capability to use the ADP systems utilized by AFCEC, assist in the dissemination of information gained on a project or program specific basis to all Air Force programs.
  • Advise and assist the Government at readiness related meetings worldwide through conference attendance, delivering materials and equipment, at both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Perform and deliver technical reviews of data deliverables and equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining spreadsheets and databases tracking current and future materials and equipment procurements ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  • Provide a minimum of two (2) commercially available technology improvements and/or two (2) recommendations concerning development of new ADR technologies each quarter which evaluate government, commercially available, and emerging technologies.


Education/Experience Required:

Educational Level: Bachelor's degree and 10 years in a U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering career field or minimum 20 years of experience in the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering career field.

Knowledge Skills



  • Excellent customer service skills such as knowledge of product (Air Force Civil Engineering), patience, attentiveness, clear communication skills, time management and ability to use positive language to interact with customers on behalf of an organization.


  • Technically related experience in survey and remote sensing technologies, development/certification of applications and systems, SUAS and robotic operations, and Program Management/Acquisition Logistics management.


  • Proficiency in computer skills to work and maintain sharepoints, websites, input data and perform trend analysis using computer software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Professional.


  • Microsoft Office Suite, written and verbal skills; ability to research, analyze data/trends and present findings at the executive level.


  • Experience directly relating to technical and program management support for the modernization of ADR, BEAR, and HIPPO is highly desired.
