Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Job Description
This summer research internship is designed for a motivated high school student interested in pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering. The program provides hands-on exposure to laboratory research and introduces fundamental concepts in biomaterials, tissue engineering, and medical device development. The primary goal is to help the student understand the research process from idea to experimentation and data interpretation. The internship will take place in the Biofabrication and Functional Materials Lab (BFF Lab) located in the Missouri Protoplex facility at Missouri University of Science and Technology, under supervision of Dr. Fateme Fayyazbakhsh, Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The student will be exposed to a multidisciplinary research environment focused on biomaterials, 3D bioprinting, and translational biomedical applications. Learning Objectives:

Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.50 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
