About the Job:

The Benefits Retiree Specialist works in the Office of Human Resources (OHR) and serves the University community by providing quality service to our employees. This position plays a role in supporting the University Retirement programs, including administration support to pension and defined contribution programs and life insurance to employees and retirees. Responsible for responding to employee inquiries & responsible for auditing employee and benefit data in PeopleSoft in an accurate and timely manner.
Location and Work environment: Hybrid position

Work Schedule: Typical business hours, Monday through Friday

Primary Responsibilities: (100%)

  • Daily benefits retirement programs related data entries, maintain employee and company information in PeopleSoft
  • Administer also health and wellness benefits for employees in PeopleSoft, such as medical, dental, HRAs, FSAs, life insurance.
  • Manage employee benefits retirement programs data for the biweekly payroll. Enter and update benefit amounts in PeopleSoft in accordance with established payroll due dates
  • Correct employee records as needed to ensure an accurate and current employee history
  • Coordinate death cases and process life insurance benefits
  • Maintains documentation of configurations and processes
  • Respond to employees' benefits issues in Salesforce cases
  • Ensure retirement eligibility and payouts.
  • Open Enrollment assigned tasks
  • Audit incoming and outgoing vendor files for discrepancies
  • Help automate manual processes to improve accuracy
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and professional HR work experience to equal four years.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent analytical/problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with clients of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of professional benefits experience is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with demonstrated knowledge of benefit plans and/or related payroll experience.
  • Experience is desired in working with vendors on operational plan administration issues for benefits plans.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
