About the Job

This position will support 2 NIH funded research studies. The ideal candidate will an experienced research professional who is detail-oriented and has the ability to manage multiple research studies to ensure timely and high quality execution. The candidate should have a desire to work with children and families, and be a strong communicator in verbal and written situations.

Responsibilities:
(20%) Data Collection and Data Management for Early identification of ASD in females Study

  • Complete Human Subjects ethics training
  • Assist PI with maintaining study protocol
  • Develop study procedures pertaining to collecting data in partnership with Children's, Minnesota
  • Reliably administer semi-structured and standardized parent and provider interviews
  • Assist PI in developing coding schemes based on semi-structured interviews
  • Perform preliminary data analyses using statistics software (Excel, SPSS, R, SAS)

(50%) Research Study Coordination for both studies

  • Purchasing study materials and ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures/documentation
  • Communicate regularly with collaborators regarding study progress
  • Organize recruitment/enrollment reports
  • Assist with reporting requirements per funding agency
  • For LENA, supervise any student, temporary or casual employee(s)
  • For LENA, liase with study sites to ensure data collection is maximized
  • For LENA, prepare IRB applications, modifications, and annual reports

(20%) Data Collection for LENA Study

  • Answer participant questions regarding home language data collection
  • Prepare home language recordings kits, mail kits, track kits, and process kits when they are returned
  • Contact families with reminders to complete recordings and return kits

(10%) Carry out lab management tasks

  • Coordinate schedules and professional development for undergraduate students
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Psychology, Human Development, Cognitive or Affective Neuroscience, or a related field plus at least 2 years of research experience, and/or an equivalent combination of research experience totaling at least 6 years.
  • Prior experience working with infants and/or young children in a research context.
  • Prior experience with data entry, management and reporting in LORIS.
  • Research reliable in administering the Vineland-3, ADOS and Bayley-4.
  • Ability to work on-site at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB).
