The Industrial Delivery Technician is responsible for the delivery of all equipment and assisting in all aspects of installation, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of industrial waste and recycling equipment, including compactors, balers, augers, and related containers. The technician operates company vehicles and equipment, maintains compliance with safety standards, and provides professional service to internal and external customers. Responsibilities of Position:
- Load, secure, transport, and deliver compactors, balers, augers, and related equipment using roll-off trucks, rollback trucks, and trailers in accordance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Install, remove, and set up industrial equipment at customer locations, ensuring proper operation and secure placement
- Assisting with fabrication, welding (MIG and stick/arc), grinding, finishing, and installing steel components on compactors, balers, augers, and related equipment in accordance with quality and safety standards
- Assisting with repairs involving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components of industrial equipment
- Prepare equipment for service or delivery, including cleaning, painting, and final inspection
- Operate and maintain shop tools, hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment safely and properly
- Complete required inspections, service documentation, and reports using company computer systems
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations
- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management while representing the company in a positive manner
- Support other shop or field projects as needed to meet operational demands
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position will not manage employees
Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:
- Ability to operate a forklift safely
- Familiarity with using a computer
- Familiarity with roll off truck operations, trailer operations and load securement
- Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:
- Basic knowledge of welding and cutting preferred
- Basic small shop tools and some electrical knowledge required
- Welding and cutting experience or participation in technical training program preferred
- 1 year of Roll Off driving experience, preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems; exposure to hydraulic and electrical systems preferred
Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:
- Continuously lifting/carrying a max of 35 lbs
- Frequently lifting/carrying a max of 75 lbs
- Occasionally lifting/carrying a max of 100 lbs
- Frequently pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs
- Rarely pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs
- Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
- Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
- Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
- Frequently climbing and/or balancing
- Frequently sitting/standing/walking
Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:
- Must have at least a valid Class B CDL
- Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
- Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
- Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
- Exposure to residential and commercial waste
- Ability to travel between offices, as required
- Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license (if applicable)
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
- Must be able to read and speak the English language
