The Senior Salesforce Systems Administrator is responsible for the advanced administration, optimization, governance support, and operational leadership of Rumpke's Salesforce platform. This role serves as a senior-level technical administrator supporting a rapidly evolving enterprise Salesforce environment across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and Revenue functions.

The Senior Salesforce Systems Administrator will work closely with the Salesforce Architect, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Business Process Managers, Developers, integration teams, implementation partners, and business stakeholders to support scalable platform growth, improve operational maturity, and ensure alignment with enterprise governance standards. This position is expected to operate with a high degree of independence and technical expertise while also mentoring administrators, supporting release management activities, driving platform best practices, and helping establish long-term operational processes and standards.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Leads administration and governance of user access, profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing/security models in alignment with enterprise security standards
  • Partners with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable declarative Salesforce solutions
  • Reviews and validates configuration changes to ensure alignment with architecture standards, naming conventions, technical debt reduction strategies, and platform scalability goals
  • Documents and executes configuration changes and support activities in accordance with IT change-control and governance processes
  • Mentors and trains junior Salesforce System Administrators,acts as platform SME, and owns medium-to-high complexity platform enhancements
  • Supports Salesforce release management processes, including deployment coordination, regression testing, sandbox management, and production validation activities, leads release readiness activities, and performs enterprise impact analysis/risk assessments
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for platform defects, integration issues, automation failures, and user-impacting incidents
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation, data dictionaries, configuration standards, operational procedures, KPI's, and knowledge base articles
  • Develops and maintains advanced reports, dashboards, and reporting structures to improve operational visibility and executive reporting
  • Designs and implements advanced flows, security models,automated frameworks, dynamic forms/pages,complex validation logic/rules,assignment logic, and approval processes
  • Configures and maintains Salesforce metadata, including custom fields, objects, record types, page layouts, and list views, to support approved and evolving business processes
  • Participates in CAB and ARB processes and enforces configuration and documentation standards
  • Leads data quality initiatives, reviews configurations for best practices, defines reporting standards and dashboard strategies, and identifies platform risks.
  • Administers user access, including user setup, updates, deactivation, roles, profiles, and permission sets, in alignment with security and governance standards
  • Supports onboarding and offboarding processes, including reassignment of record ownership for users who leave the organization
  • Partners with Salesforce implementation vendors and internal IT teams to resolve configuration defects and support enhancements
  • Serves as the primary day-to-day administrator for a live and expanding Salesforce environment, providing advanced (Tier 3) support



Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position will not manage employees



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • User and access management (profiles, roles, permission sets)
  • Salesforce configuration (fields, objects, page layouts, record types)
  • Declarative automation using Salesforce Flows and validation rules
  • Report and dashboard creation, including custom report types
  • Troubleshooting and resolving configuration-related defects
  • Ability to document changes and follow change-control processes
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and implementation partners
  • Ability to scope and estimate changes (hours of work, days to build/test/deploy) and maintain backlog
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders to prioritize work and backlog
  • Ability to provide at least two references for oganizations you have administered



Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • 8+ years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator in a production environment
  • Experience supporting a live Salesforce org, including post-go-live support
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM concepts across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations
  • Experience participating in Salesforce release cycles and change management
  • Basic familiarity with ERP/Financial systems and with Field Services Operations
  • Salesforce Administrator training (Trailhead or equivalent)
  • Sales Cloud Consultant Certification - Preferred
  • Salesforce Flow (Visual Flow) fundamentals training and Salesforce reporting and dashborard training
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) - Preferred; Service Cloud Consultant Certification - Preferred



Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:



  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbs
  • Continuously sitting
  • Frequently standing/walking



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
